PCB Assembly Capabilities

Item Name PCBA Capability
Lead Time Our typical assembly turn time is 1-2 weeks after we receive all the BOM components, however we sometimes turn projects around in under 24 hours or it takes us a few weeks depending on quantity and complexity. Please specify your desired turn time or simply mention ‘standard turn time’ if you don’t have a target date.

Please send us your bill of materials (BOM), PCB files (Gerber files/other PCB files, etc.), Centroid (Pick & Place PNP file, or XY Data or files in other formats), and any special instructions.
Component Sourcing Options Turn Key We have preferred vendors all over the globe. We put our preferred vendors through a 20 point quality inspection checklist that includes things like order accuracy, on-time delivery, prompt customer service, etc. For full turn-key PCB assembly jobs, our purchasing team will source your parts through our preferred vendor list, receive the components, and properly store the component until it’s time for assembly. No substitutes will be used without getting your approval and you will be notified if any components need to be purchased from non-approved vendors.
Consigned You supply all the components to us. Send us all the components with a BOM file and detailed packing list indicating item number, customer or manufacturer’s part number and quantity.

Our trained shipping and receiving staff will document your parts and properly store them until it’s time for assembly.

Be sure to speak with your PCB assembly service before purchasing parts or PCBs in case extra components need to be purchased or the PCB needs to be panelized a certain way for automated assembly.
Partial Turn-key You supply some components and we supply the rest. You offer the main devices and components, while we source the rest for you.
Assembly Options We can manage all types of PCB assembly jobs including surface mount (SMT), thru-hole (THT) and a hybrid of both. We also offer single or double-sided placement.

At no additional cost we are happy to deliver first article samples of 1-5 pieces for customer approval before building the rest.

We have no minimum order quantity (MOQ). We will assemble one PCB if that’s what the customer wants.

Our high-speed equipment takes 2-6 hours to set up for a new job, and 1-3 hours to re-set up for repeat orders. If manual placement will take less time than high-speed machine placement then we may opt to take that route. The quality is the same but the cost is much less and we pass those savings to our customers.
Types of Solder We offer lead-free (RoHS Compliant) solder with no-clean and water soluble flux assembly services for our customers. We default to no-clean flux if the customer does not specify or care.
Stencils Depending on the quantity and size and complexity of the PCB we may opt for manually stenciling the PCB to save the customer money. For all other jobs we use framed stainless steel stencils.

We have special software for calculating stencil aspect ratio and area ratio of the apertures and we will take the decision to use nano coating or not when there are fine pitch or BGA components.
Minimum Order No minimum quantity orders and no additional cost for producing first article samples.

We can easily manage quantities up to thousands of boards. If quantities exceed our capabilities then we may recommend one of our CM partners.
Component Size Henway Technologies is a custom electronics design firm as well as a contractor manufacturer for PCB assembly. We are aware of all the cutting edge electronics components and packaging. Our building is equipped with all the resources to place any component. Below are a few examples:

Passive Component: we can accept components as small as 01005, 0201,0402.

BGA: We have the ability to place BGAs with a pitch down to 0.25mm. X-ray inspection is available for jobs that require it.

Fine Pitch/Leadless Parts: we can assemble 0.25mm fine pitch parts.
Board Dimension There is no minimum board size but all boards that run through our high-speed equipment must be secured to something that our equipment can grab on to. We will offer suggestions if you have a large quantity job and a small board.

Max Board Size is limited by our high-speed pick and place machine. The max size is 250mm x 500mm. Our reflow oven, stencil printer, and other equipment can manage much larger PCBs therefore we are capable of handling large boards if manual placement is an option.
Board Shape We don’t have any requirement for board shapes. Rectangular, Circular, any Odd Shapes are fine.
Board Types It’s common for PCB assembly companies to outsource PCB fabrication. We put our preferred domestic and offshore PCB fab vendors through a 20 point quality inspection checklist that includes things like order accuracy, on-time delivery, prompt customer service, etc. We can perform PCB assembly with any PCB material. Some examples below:

Standard PCB (any thickness)
Flex/Rigid flex
Aluminum PCB
Rogers PCB
HDI (buried/blind vias)
Copper base
Automated Optical Inspection Automated optical inspection equipment is used in different ways during PCB manufacturing to scan the boards for defects.
    Fabrication:

  • Shorts between the copper of different nets.
  • Trace width violations.
  • Spacing violations between traces, pads, vias, and fills.
  • Cuts in the copper would result in an open or disconnected net.
  • Excess copper on a net.
  • Missing component footprint pads.
  • Drilled hole breakouts in PCB pads or vias.

    Assembly:

  • Solder paste inspection before assembly.
  • Finished solder joints.
  • The alignment of components on a board.
  • Polarity indicators for component orientation.
  • Component markings such as color bands on resistors.
  • The correct location of targeting fiducials.
  • Labels and other circuit board markings.
Repair & Rework We have been reworking boards since 2012 and have a trained staff for performing advanced PCB rework. We work according to IPC-7711/7721 rework of electronics assembly/repair and modifications of printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
Cable Harness Construction We work according to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards when supporting our customers with custom cable assemblies.
Power On Testing & Programming Henway Technologies is able to program production boards and design test fixtures so that the customer doesn't have to. This ensures high quality and performance right out of the shop.
Quality As a PCB manufacturer, technicians at Henway Technologies are certified to IPC A-610 and J-standard. We are committed to continuous improvement of product quality and reliability. IPC-A-610 is the most widely used inspection standard in the electronics industry and has earned an international reputation as the source for end-product acceptance criteria. We can build and inspect the PCBs we build to Class 1, 2, and 3 standards.
