Transforming a Brushless DC Motor Controller Prototype to a Production Ready Circuit Board

A small circuit board houses a brushless DC motor controller and an LCD inside a miniature electric water heater. A product development team at a company specializing in these heaters was working on a new product with a tiny brushless DC electric motor. Concerned about cost and quality and lacking expertise in professional EE design, they sought assistance from Henway.

The team had worked with Henway on several projects, so they knew our skill sets. When we arrived at the project, they had already created a prototype circuit using Arduinos and eval boards for basic functions and had detailed 3D CAD models of the desired enclosure. We were asked to take what they had and make it ‘production-ready’.

The picture is of the circuit board prototype. The following steps are to finalize the hardware files, build the PCB prototypes, code the firmware and build 200 additional prototypes.
