A mechanical engineer working at a beer dispensing machine company found himself in a tight spot. The company urgently needed 750 controllers for their RFID Beer Dispensing machine, but the bill of materials was a mess, with several components out of stock. What’s more, recent mechanical changes required adjustments to the PCB shape. The company needed an EE design and manufacturing company to manage design modifications, source components, create samples, and initiate production ASAP. Enter Henway.
Henway began by reviewing the BOM and estimating the production, accounting for the costs of the out-of-stock components. Upon approval of the production cost estimate, Henway procured and stored components for 750 units before changing the files. Doing things in this order ensured that nothing would run out of stock during the PCB redesign process. Once the redesign was complete, Henway produced ten first-article samples in one week and sent them for approval.
Once we got the green light, we fired up the production line and let the rest of the order rip.
